these boots are amazing. comfortable, good design, and great materials. there is only one issue: they are stiff on the back (right above the ankle). I have two scars (one on each leg) because of that. If I wear the boots with high socks, no problem. if the socks are shorter it will hurt! I bought the boot in size 40, men's size because I needed a pair of boots (and women's size was not available) and I wear thicker socks in winter. overall, I love this boot. would change the stiffness in the back.

Size 47 fits well. My feet normally measure out at 12.5 or 13 medium. Normally I buy a 14 when directed to size up, but the 47 feels just right for normal shoe sizing. However, they are not as wide in the toe box as is standard in barefoot shoes, and the sole feels rigid even after a few weeks of daily wear. Thick too. Build seems very high quality and I imagine I can get more than a few seasons out of them. They are very warm, dry and flat, so will be my daily-drivers through the Bay Area rainy season, but I really thought they were going to loosen up at some point. The advertised flexibility is absolutely not there and I would not buy another pair.

I purchased the Williamsburg back in February as the boot to get me through cold winters on Canada's east coast. These boots are my second pair of Groundies - I also have the Universe which has been a super solid work shoe for the past couple of years (I work in a university/hospital). Definitely size up for the Williamsburg as recommended, even if you're in-between sizes as I am. These boots are comfortable and didn't take long to break-in -- the pull tab on the back is a big help in getting them on. I happen to think they look awesome, especially in the sea of Chelsea boots. The sole took a bit of getting used to as the rubber is quite firm, particularly the heel area. They do a decent job keeping me planted on icy/slushy surfaces; but don't expect crampons. They've kept my feet warm and dry so far. I've had them in about -15c with some light wool socks and have been fine while moving. Being leather, they're super easy to clean; however, I'd recommend treating them before hand, especially if you're dealing with winter elements/road salt. Yeah - really like these boots. The only niggles I have are: Getting the heel locked in at first, changing the lace pattern helped (not the boots fault). I wish the sole was stitched on in addition to the glue for piece of mind; however, I presume this was left out to improve waterproofing and the glue is holding up just fine so far. It would have been cool to have a leather toe cap too. Cool boots.

Definitely order a size up. I usually wear EU44,5 - 45 (my feet are 28,5cm). I've just returned my size 45 and ordered a size 46. The toe box is wide, but on the narrow side of the wide spectrum. If you're looking into wearing Correct Toes in your shoes, I don't think these are the right fit for you. The shoes look beautiful though, the quality also seemed amazing. I love the little lip at the back of the shoe.

My Groundies Williamsburg have arrived! All my barefoot shoes are 43eu and even my boots (Lems Boulder Boot & Vivobarefoot Scott ii Utility.) They're a bit of a snug fit if paired with a thick socks, perfect fit with thin socks. So I decided to go up a size (44eu) for the Williamsburg because I wanted to pair them up with thick socks for the winter. Here in Toronto you kind of have too if you're just standing waiting for the streetcar
