How to Properly Measure Your Feet

Step 1: Stand

Place a sheet of paper on a hard floor next to a wall. Stand barefoot with your larger foot against the wall, ensuring your heel is touching the wall.

Step 2: Trace

Draw a line at the point where your longest toe ends (note that this may not necessarily be your big toe). Mark the widest part of your foot on both the left and right sides, aligning with the ball of your foot.

Step 3: Measure length

Measure the distance from the end of the paper to the toe line with either a tape measure or ruler with centimeters on it.

Step 4: Measure width

Your foot width is the distance between the marks on both sides of the ball of your foot. Measure the distance from both points with either a taper measure or a ruler with centimeters on it.

Now, take your measurements in centimeters and correspond your favorite Groundies shoes with those exact measurements to find your precise size.

  • *Note - please do this for each shoe, as we have different soles in different shoe models. We also measure in centimeters since we are a German company and offer UK and EU sizes.
  • Refer to the specific size charts for each product. Select the next larger size if you fall between two sizes.
  • For sandals, you typically won’t need additional space, while ballerinas require very little, and sneakers and winter shoes may need a bit more.
  • Check for any recommendations under “Special features” that suggest a smaller or larger size and use that as your primary guide.
  • Keep in mind that shoe sizes can vary between brands, and even within our brand, there may be model-specific differences, so it's essential to double-check.
