Barefoot running is the most natural, beautiful, and healthiest way to move. Millions of years of evolution have perfectly prepared our bodies for it. This is evidenced by the complexity of our foot with 26 bones, 33 joints, over 100 ligaments, and 20 muscles. Complemented by countless nerve cells, this makes our foot a sensitive organ that perceives every surface in detail and adapts immediately to different conditions. If you allow your feet to fulfill their innate functions as sensitive sensory organs and complex stabilizers, natural movement and the following health effects are possible:

To authentically imitate barefoot running and its health benefits, Groundies have - depending on the model - four to five features. Below you will learn more about these features and their direct health benefits.
Our thin soles allow your feet to "read" or perceive the ground in detail. This information is processed by the brain and manifests itself in balance: The feet adapt immediately to different surfaces, enabling efficient, healthy movement. Nevertheless, they are best protected in your everyday life.

Shoes made of stiff materials that do not correspond to the shape of the foot restrict the free movement of your feet. For this reason, Groundies shoes are very light and made of soft, flexible materials that allow full freedom of movement and adaptation to your individual foot shape.

Our highly flexible TrueSense® soles allow your feet unrestricted freedom of movement to become stronger. Because of the flexibility, natural, free movements are possible, allowing continuous activation of the muscles.

Zero-Drop means that the sole has no offset between the heel and toes - it is completely flat. This mimics the natural barefoot position, supporting a natural gait and a healthy alignment of the spine.

Ideally, shoes should correspond to the shape of the feet - not the other way around. A foot-appropriate toe box gives your feet room to unfold and allows for a natural gait, enabling them to function as natural shock absorbers. In addition, your big toe, which is crucial for your stability, can perform its function without restriction.
