Our Groundies® Barefoot Sneaker Lima is the successor to our popular Brooklyn Low and for everyone looking for an uncomplicated all-rounder, but do not want to forego sustainability. This vegan unisex barefoot sneaker has been sustainably manufactured and ensures pleasant air circulation thanks to its breathable lining made from 100% organic cotton and an insole made from OnSteam® microfiber. The thin and flexible sole creates a noticeably light barefoot feeling, while the anatomical toe box provides enough space in the toe area.

We offer free returns within Germany, Austria, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

To clean your Groundies, please use a cloth or a sponge moistened with cold, clear water. Especially with leather and imitation leather models, impregnation is highly recommended to protect the shoes from moisture, dirt and environmental influences.

I purchased a pair of Lima shoes (white) in May 2024, and have been wearing them over the past summer and autumn. The Lima trainers look great - they have a sleek, clean style, and I love the one-colour upper without any contrasting stripes or accents. I also appreciate the cotton canvas upper from an environmental standpoint, as opposed to my previous Groundies Vision Vegan trainers which had a synthetic plastic-based material upper. However, the Lima trainers have been far less comfortable than my Vision Vegan trainers, even after being broken in. Although the shape of the sole appears the same or very similar between the Lima and Vision trainers, the stiffness of the Lima canvas material has made this trainer much less comfortable for me. I don't think the shape of the Groundies sole fits my foot shape as well as some other barefoot brands do, but the little bit of stretch or softness of the Vision Vegan synthetic upper allowed those trainers to mold to a shape more similar to my foot. Most disappointingly, I noticed this week (October 2024) that the cotton canvas around the inner seams of both Lima toe boxes is starting to tear. My old Vision Vegan trainers lasted nearly two years before the upper material started to tear. These haven't even made it past the 5 month mark. This is an ok version 1.0 of this model of trainer from Groundies. What I would like to see as a consumer is a version 2.0 of this trainer that keeps the beautiful clean styling of this trainer, as well as the environmentally responsible materials, but improves upon the durability and fit of the upper. My overall feedback to Groundies is to stop introducing and then discontinuing so many models of shoe, but to instead focus on and refine the footwear that looks most like "normal", non-barefoot shoes. I would like to see ten classic styles, each in a variety of colours that are easy to pair with common outfits (e.g. jeans and t-shirt), and I'd like to see these shoe models refined year after year, not abandoned and unavailable for purchase after one season.
